The WR-08 Proxi-Flange™ is an Eravant trademarked, patent-pending contactless flange straight waveguide section using WR-08 waveguides and UG-387/U-M anti-cocking flanges. Its flange is populated with an array of small pin-like structures to realize RF choking actions. This design avoids poor return loss and high insertion loss caused by imperfect contact when two waveguide flanges are mated. Because there are no waveguide screws required, the Proxi-Flange™ eliminates the issues of flange mis-alignment due to uneven tightening, improving device durability, measurement consistency, and repeatability. The model STQ-WG-08025-FB-CF covers the frequency range of 90 to 140 GHz with an insertion length of 2.5”. The Proxi-Flange™ solution is ideal for volume production and automatic test lines where frequent connection/disconnection occurs.
